FOUR MAJOR PATHS IN YOGA The word Yoga means union - union between the individual and the absolute (God). The yoga philosophy teaches that there are many ways to this goal. Just as there are many different paths one may take to arrive at the top of a mountain, there are many routes to God. Sivananda Yoga uses a synthesis of the four major paths. We try to include a bit from each of the four paths in our daily lives.
