| Deep In The Desert Deep in the desert it rained and rained The sand got wet, the weather pleasant Air got cool bringing the tiny creatures out of there holes Few blades of grass tried to make the desert green The nature was kind to the desert But there were no lilies, no daffodils, no roses, and no tulip No splashing kids in the ponds No houses to be taken care off These was only silence, loneliness and nature Some days later the clouds flew away the sun came out Bright initially, got warmer, hot and then burning The sand got dry as if it was never wet The tiny creatures went back into the holes Then there was sun, sun and sun Blinding and burning sand storms ruled Days after days, weeks after weeks months after months Decades passed and there were no clouds…. no rain The nature was harsh to the desert But there was no drought in the desert There were no crops to be damaged No animals to die No kids to be affected No tracks to disappear and no travelers to lose way It was deep in the desert There was only loneliness, silence and nature It did not matter deep inside the desert How harsh the nature is As deep in the desert there is nothing but nature Sometimes I wish To be a dune……. deep in the desert - Contributed by Ghazali __________________________________________________ |
