Driving Directions Home | What to Bring | Trip Format | Policy & Registration | Prices | Driving Directions | Paddling Map Yoga & Kayaking Weekends | Photos of our First Trip Please meet at South Dade Marina at 9:30 on Saturday morning. If you are going to be late, please phone Bharata (before 9:30) on his cell at (561) 315-0160.
Going south on the Turnpike make sure you watch the signs going south and take the Homestead/Key West Turnpike extension south.
Take Turnpike south to the end and continue on US 1 south (Do NOT turn on Card Sound Road to Key Largo).
The marina is on your left at the end of the second passing zone. There is a billboard in the middle of the marina which is very visible. There is also a tall, cell phone tower a little north of the marina on the same side of the road. Sail boat masts should also be visible about the bushes. The chain link fence at the gate just pops up at you so get in the RIGHT LANE and slow down as you approach. The marina gate is exactly 13 miles from where you get off the Turnpike. If you get lost (!), please call Bharata on his cell phone at (561) 315-0160.
CAUTION! Traffic in this area is crazy - especially on Saturday mornings. We strongly suggest you pull off to the right of the road. and wait until there is no traffic coming from either direction before getting back on the road and turning left. It is worth the few minutes it takes to do this. It is strongly advisable NOT to stop on the highway while waiting to turn. The marina people tell us that accidents frequently happen when cars stop waiting to turn.
