YOGA FOR TRAUMA SURVIVORS
YOGA FOR TRAUMA SURVIVORS
"Yoga For Trauma Survivors" is a class that is attentive to the sensitivities, emotional effects, and mind/body connection of the traumatic experience. The class will follow in the Sivananda tradition of yoga but integrate and emphasize elements that are most appropriate for persons who have survived traumatic experience. We welcome all persons with this background to come and join us in this "safe space" and find a moment of calm in the chaos of the world.
Trauma originates in a variety of places and experiences: chronic illness, sexual assault, childhood abuses, domestic violence, war (as soldier or civilian), natural disaster, human trafficking, addictions, eating disorders, among others.
Teresa Bennett Pasquale is in private practice as a therapist in the Palm Beach County Area. She created "Yoga for Trauma Survivors" to integrate mental health and yoga practice into a space where a yoga class can take into account the sensitivities of a trauma survivor. Professionally she passionately serves her clients as both a therapist (in her private practice) and a yoga teacher (on the mat) with a creative spirit and trauma specialized background. She believes that mind/body approaches, yoga, creative arts, animal-assisted therapies and other complementary and integrative approaches to mental health and wellness can provide people with a holistic means of finding healing. Come join us for a "safe space" experience and journey into body and breath for health and wellness. See more information on complementary therapies on her informational website: www.embodymentalhealth.com.
Teresa speaks on a variety of Mind/Body and Trauma topics including: Trauma Origins in the mind and the body, holistic treatment practices in trauma and mental health including: yoga, equine facilitated psychotherapy, creative arts therapies, and other material relevant to trauma, emotional pain, and healing.
She is continually becoming more versed in methodologies and practices for trauma, emotional pain, and integrative mental health.
